My way to financial independence - how to reach it

Observations:

It has been relatively quiet month for myself.  Year on year all investment except small cap and eur/usd exchange rate. These two had combined losses of $25K.
Going forward there is an active talk about eurozone finally going into recession after years of stagnation.  My plan is to keep monitoring the market and looking out for new investment opportunities.  I can tolerate 2.5% of my financial independence nest egg being in cash.
